Ethiopia in a Minute

Prepare for a whirlwind picture tour of my trip to Ethiopia. It's beyond blogging about. There are just too many super neat things that happened. Too many experiences, too many stories to tell. It's overwhelming.

Traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony at our hotel in Mekele.

Starbucks has nothing on this coffee!!

Some of the children after the evangelical church meeting on Sunday.

Vickie and I posing with the kiddos. :)

Everyday the lines were long . . . so many people to see, but there just wasn't enough time. The desparation made me realize anew the sweetness of heaven where there will be no more sorrow, no more pain, and where the former things will be swept away.

Waiting to see the nurses . . .

Denise, our hard-working dental hygienist!

Paul -- our fantastic optical technician.

The women would rub a certain type of root on their hands to dye them black! It was considered to be a thing of beauty.

Injera is the flat, fermented bread that lies on the platter under the food. You pick up a small pieve of injera with your fingers and then grab the meat or beans. Talk about communal meals!!

My great new Ethiopian gal friends!!

This was the view from the balcony of my hotel room.

Saba, one of our great community nurse translators!!

Assembly of God church in Ethiopia!! Pray that the Lord sends laborers into His harvest field here!!

Even though Ethiopian coffee is good, the first thing we did after we got through immigration in the US was to find a Starbucks!! Pumpkin Spice Latte . . . here I come!!
